As with all concept cars, the Jaguar C-X17’s interior is the least production-viable element of the entire design, but it does give vital clues to the direction that design boss Ian Callum and his team are evaluating for the future. The focus is on clean, strong, flowing design, one that shuns clutter for pared-back simplicity. Open the door and you’ll notice both the sense of space and the small F-type steering wheel and four individual bucket seats, the latter two elements suggesting a nimble, involving driving experience.

Automatic transmissions will finally overtake manuals as the top-selling gearbox choice in 2007. Autos have been long established as the more popular option Stateside and in Japan, but it seems that Europe has now finally caught the two-pedal bug. With the ever-increasing popularity of semi-automatic gearboxes (Tiptronic, DSG, CVT and a whole flood of other acronyms), it isn’t hard to see why.
Nissan has teased its Resonance crossover concept ahead of its official debut next week in Detroit. The image of the concept, which Nissan says is the latest in a series of crossover designs "fusing bold styling with a hybrid-electric powertrain," shows a sharp flowing character line running along the side as well as the L-shaped LED rear lamps that can be found on the Nissan Juke. We can also see that the Resonance features a floating roof, created by the C-pillar not joining up to the roof but curving down to leave a break to the roof, giving the impression that it is floating over the rear window.
